I just made my 4th trip today since I started and it's finally starting to make sense LOL

My dh will be happy to know we will never run out of toilet paper or paper towels again........... maybe!

one thing I noticed today was that I actually had coupons for things that the list didn't point out. I had a $1 off bounty papers towels and they were also on sale at the store. There were a couple other things like that too. Now that I'm used to the list, it's easier to spot things like that when I'm clipping the coupons out.

anyone else using Grocery Game?

I've stocked up on spaghetti sauce, tp, paper towels, pam cooking spray, flour, crackers and soup so far.

I really wish I had the space to stock up on stuff, cuz we REALLY need to find ways to save money! I thought living in San Diego was expensive, but man, this place is like a black hole for your bank account, it just sucks the money right into nowhere, LOL!

But, as it is we hardly have room for the stuff to get us by week by week. I really hate this apt sometimes. But I hate moving even more so I have a feeling we'll be stuck here awhile.

We don't have it here or I would probably play. The only national chain we have is Wal-Mart. I tend to follow the sales and stock up on stuff when it's a good buy. Right now I could probably go at least a month and not have to buy anything but milk, eggs, bread, and fresh fruit and veggies.

DH and I are talking about a small garden this year so I will most likely not have to buy veggies this summer!

Oh I would love to have a stockpile of paper towels and toilet paper!!

If I'm able to make it to town (an hour away) this week I'll be stocked up on taco shells and canned Green Giant veggies and bakery items. And for every 10 packs of taco shells I'll have an extra $5 to spend on other items, just trying to figure out what I should get...paper products or meat? The taco shells are $1, I have 80 coupons for $1 off, plus at Cub this week there is a coupon for buy 10 GM items, get $5 off your order. Wish I could have gotten more taco coupons!!

My stockpile is getting small, but it sure has been a life saver!! I keep telling DH we MUST move to an area that doubles coupons and has winetags!! :) Funny thing is I'm serious!!! Hehehe.

What are wine tags? I have seen people say things about them over at MyCoupons but I don't know what they are. We have no where here that doubles coupons either...very frustrating! I rarely use them b/c it's just not worth it for me. I buy mainly store brand and watch the sales.

If your grocery store sells wine you can often find bottles that have tags with coupons on them.

Haven't yet but am REALLY tempted to try it out. The Grocery Game was listed in Money magazine as one of the ways to save money so DH is all for it...lol!

wish I could do it, but the nearest store listed for me is 35 mins away...drat...call me lazy but I ain't travelling that far to grocery shop. grocery shopping is HELLISH for me and I hate every minute of it...don't want to prolong it...

besides, what happens in the summer when it's HOT & my groceries melt on the way home? :-( I could use a cooler I guess (that's what people do out here in the boonies) but geeeeeeeeez! again, too much work. lol

Us people out yonder in the boonies do do that....LOL! ;) I live 30 minutes from the closest Wal-Mart and have an insulated bag to keep my groceries cold when I drive home. I usually do all my errands before going to W-M then go to get my groceries.

I'm in week 5 too Crista and love it! my freezer has veggies/pizza/fish sticks and ice cream for months. we have cereal out the wazoo and toothpaste/brushes etc stockpiled. DH thinks I'm a bit crackers cause I get excited about it! so far I seem to be steady at about 25-35% savings, I'm hoping once I get through the 12 week cycle it'll get better, but I'm happy with that I think!

I've chased down a few good deals at CVS/Rite Aid too and I'm afraid I'm getting a bit obsessive . . . but the checkbook will be happy!

are u guys using coupons a lot? do you think I can still do this w/ out coupons? I can *NEVER* find coupons in the paper for stuff that I use!!!! (actually considering driving to the store 35 mins away so I can try this, we could use to save $$$ w/ all the money we've been losing lately)....plus, gas prices have gone down quite a bit...

the idea behind it, is to use the coupons in conjunction with the sale prices :(

Keep all your sale circulars, I keep mine in file folders by date. Then when it tells you to use a coupon for something on sale, you have it! I bought a TON of quaker oatmeal bars yesterday. They were on sale and I had $1 off coupons :)
