sometimes when they are thick enough I will make the kids a pb/j sandwhich with the heel facing the insdie (they never know). Today I had Caroline and her friend take them out and sprinkle them for the birds.

Do you throw them away or are you creative?

I eat them myself sometimes or we take them to the park to feed the ducks. (Shhhhh...this is against park rules. )

Sometimes I toast them in the oven and make my own breadcrumbs with them.

We either eat them or throw them away (not really any birds around here 'cept some crows). And yes, I've given them to the kids with the heel facing inside before too!

LOL! I tear off pieces and wrap my dogs thyroid pill in them morning and night. She loves bread so she gobbles them right down! No wasting of the heels in my house!

I use them to keep my cookies soft. I have also used them for breadscrumbs. LOL I have never thought of turning them around so the crust is in--very clever! I think I would be afraid that the "crust detectors" would go off and then I'd have a sandwich that no one'd eat. LOL

DH will eat them but if I get to the bottom of the bag and that's all that's left I will usually throw them away. I always leave the top one in there until the end b/c it tends to keep the next slice of bread fresh.

Kinsey and I were talking about feeding the birds yesterday so I guess I need to give them to her to put out for the birds. We put out a bell bird feeder about once a week b/c we have so many birds eating. I bet they would like some bread to.

It depends. Most of the time someone will eat them or if I feel like getting creative, I make french toast or put cut them up and use them as breadcrumbs on top of casseroles.
