Regular retail price for the 30GB Zen is about $247. Buy.com has it for $227 with an additional $50 rebate, putting at $175, which is already a good deal. If you join Audible and commit to 12 months, they will give you a gift certificate at Buy.com for another $100 off. Price ends up being $77. Monthly membership to Audible.com is $14.95 and you get one download per month then 30% off additional downloads. Buying a book on CD is usually anywhere between $20-$75 depending on the book, so this is a good deal, too.
You can also use the Zen as an MP3 player and it plays videos, though I don't know enough about the size of videos to know how much you could watch videos.
I used to think I could never listen to books. They do go much slower than if you read the book, but it didn't take me long to get used to listening to them on my commute. Now I really enjoy listening to good readers perform an audiobook. They are almost always professional actors and have great voices and some have really cool accents.
Just FYI - you have to sign up with Audible first, then redeem the gift certificate in the 'my account' section your buy.com account (with the gift cert number Audible provides), then purchase the player while signed in through your ID that you redeemed the gift cert with. It took me a while to figure it out. You can't just enter the gift cert number at checkout, it's a little more complicated than that.
Oops - ETA the link to Zen Vision at Buy.com.
