Finished "A Tree Grow in Brooklyn" the other night. Loved it! The characters have stayed with me ever since...I felt like I knew them personally.

Reading "The Englisher" now...the 2nd book in that Amish series I started.

Still reading Moby Dick and Twenty-Thousand Leagues Under the Sea, both are slower novels as they are written in older language. Especially Moby Dick, very Charles Dickens'y as if the author was paid by the word.

I just finished "The Starter Wife". DH checked it out of the library. It was very silly and somewhat aggravating with all the Hollywood junk but I grew to love the main character and it got better after page 75.

I'm also reading Sydney Sheldon's, "Are you Afraid of the Dark". I like it so far.

And, my women's book club at church is reading: "A Thousand Splendid Suns" by Khaled Hosseini. I bought the book because there were 101 "holds" on it at our library. I will crack that one open soon.

I hope you don't mind I hopped on this board...just saw it. What fun! I love to read. Like I have time to be on another board...but my love of reading is deep.

Glad you hopped over here, Peggy! I'm interested in hearing about the books you read for your book club at church!

Finished Snow Blind by P.J. Tracy yesterday, good book but a weird ending. I plan to get another one by them at the library this weekend, (mother/daughter writing team).

Started Secondhand Smoke by Karen E. Olson, could not put it down last night. She also wrote Sacred Cows so I'm going to get that one too.

Since today is my first official day of summer holidays (I'm off till Sept 4) I hope to be around a lot more and read a ton of books.

Just this morning I started Body Surfing by Anita Shreve. I'll let you know how it is. I've been waiting for weeks to get this one started.
