Finishing up the first Harry Potter book; figured I'd reread them all before getting started on the last one.

I'm about half way done with Catherine Coulter's "Double Take" and I've read about four chapters of "A Thousand Splendid Suns" by Khaled Hosseini.

I need to catch up too. I read 1-3 a long time ago. I need to go read the rest before the new one comes out. I'll be bummed if I here the ending of the series before I get a chance to read them.

"The Chocolate War" by Robert Cormier. It's the selected book for my IRL book club. I like it so far. Anyone ever read it? It's the type of book that was assigned reading in high school.

I just posted this below but I put it in the wrong spot so here it is again!

Since today is my first official day of summer holidays (I'm off till Sept 4) I hope to be around a lot more and read a ton of books.

Just this morning I started Body Surfing by Anita Shreve. I'll let you know how it is. I've been waiting for weeks to get this one started.

Finished A Spot of Bother, my opinion?? Don't bother. :hugs: It wasn't that good. Couldn't wait to finish it.

Read Stick Figure: A diary of my former self, by Lori Gottlieb, I'll review it below.

Started Sacred Cows by Karen E. Olson last night.

I've been sick with a nasty cold, so I haven't been doing anything but reading, can't believe I've read this much this week.

Read The Sleep Beauty Proposal yesterday....totally mindless chick lit, which is always fun once in a while! Now I'm reading the 2nd Harry Potter book.

Read Saving the World while on vacation these past couple weeks. By Julia Alvarez . . . good, but not her best. In the Time of the Butterflies was better. But I still enjoyed it.

We stopped by a used bookstore today since we fly home tonight and I couldn't bear the thought of getting on a 6 hour flight without a book to read! I bought Confessions of an Ugly Stepsister but I also have the Audible version of Rebecca on my MP3 player that I'm about 1/2 way through, so I may just kick back and listen to that instead. That is if I can wrestle the MP3 player away from my son because he loves to listen to Black Eyed Peas and watch his Spongebob videos.

I'm still tackling Moby Dick (hard to read) and 20,000 leagues under the sea (nice reading). Both are thankfully slower reading for me, but Moby Dick I'm finding blah. I think it's also because it's very Charles Dickens'y where 2 pages can definitely be lessened to a couple of paragraphs; it's really wordy.
