OK, my 90 days are up!! P90X really is an extreme home fitness routine!! (check it out at http://www.beachbody.com & click on P90X) Wow, it really does feel like I was just starting. I've really enjoyed the program, it's been a great change & really *confused* my muscles! There are 3 phases, you start w/ phase 1. I chose the Classic program to start with, and then in Phase 2 added doubles (extra cardio). I started the program still dealing w/ a calf/ achilles injury so I really just wanted to do something that would still keep me really active but let my calf heal. It worked!! By the time I was back to running I found it wasn't hard at all after taking a good 4-5 weeks off to jump back into the running! And I felt much stronger running too!

Anyway, I took my measurements this morning. I did not lose ONE pound, I stayed the same weight. It fluctuated along the program, I found after a heavy weight day that I could be up 2 or 3 lbs!! Once I stopped freaking out about the weight, it's been fine.

But.... to show you that the scale is not a good indicator of progress:

Chest- Down 3" (but yes, I still have jugs! :D ), and down 1.5" (under) the band (but I'm definitely going to need new bras!)

Waist- Down 1.5"

Hips- Down 2"

Thighs- Down 1.5" (and let me tell you how thrilled I am with this, I haven't been able to shrink my thighs in AGES!)

Arms- STS (stayed the same) but look a LOT more buff!

So.. I'm down almost 10" but at the same weight!! Muscle definitely makes a difference!!

I had my dh take my pics, but for some crazy reason my computer will NOT upload them!! I'm going to have to have him check it out later when he gets home.

And... my fit test results

Before: (April 15th)
1. 1/4 pull up: (couldn't hardly lift myself at all!)
2. 10" vertical leap
3. 38 pushups (manlies or on toes)
4. 8" reach past toes
5. 4 minute wall squat
6. 12 reps @ 20 lbs
7. 50 in & outs

After: (July 14th)
1. 4 wide pullups, 2 close pullups, 5 chinups!!!!! (My goal was to do just ONE so I WAY bypassed that goal!)
2. 13" (thanks to Plyo!)
3. 50 pushups (on toes) and could probably do another set!!!
4. 10" reach past toes (thanks to Yoga!)
5. SEVEN minute wall squat!!! I was going for 5 minutes and then just kept going!
6. 20R @ 20 lbs
7. 80 in & outs

WOOHOO, look at that progress!! I can't wait to see what round 2 brings!! :)

Hugs,
Jess

WOW Jess! You came a looooooong way in just 3 months. That's neat it went by fast. Thanks so much for sharing your results... I might need to put that on my wish list. :) Is it different or just classic stuff?

Can't wait to see pics!

It's classic stuff- pushups, pullups, weight training, but you do specific workouts each week to confuse your muscles. There are 3 phases and you start w/ phase 1 workouts, move to phase 2 workouts, and then mix it up for phase 3. There's also a Plyo (plyometrics or jump training) workout, or a cardio option if that's too tough, and a kenpo workout (kickboxing/ martial arts). And a yoga workout which is long but important! (although I admit I skipped it or shortened it a few times! :) ).

HTH!

Jess

You are truly an inspiration. I am going to have to get my measurement tape out again. Maybe next week....

Glad your injuries are healing.

I agree w/you. I do not worry about the scale. Yes, I look at it and weigh-in but I mostly go by how my clothes feel.

Thanks, Peggy! Measurements tell the real story of progress, that stupid scale just frustrates me! :D

Glad to see you posting again!

Jess

Yeah, I know. Time goes by fast! Greg didn't end up finishing the program w/ me, but he still had pretty good results. I don't know his measurements, but he lost 2 lbs & definitely toned up. His pants are fitting a lot looser & his shirts are fitting tighter (in a good way! ;) ). He still has to take the fit test again, he had a cold last week (the one he shared w/ me!) so he didn't take it yet.

Thanks for asking!

Hugs,
Jess
