I am reading "Redeeming Love" by Francine Rivers. Really enjoying it so far. (It totally sounds like one of those cheesy romance books, but it's not. LOL)

Our women's book club at church is reading "Open House" by Elizabeth Berg. I've read 1-2 chapters. It's in the van so I'll get it out tomorrow to read more.

I am also reading "Lights Out Tonight" by Mary Jane Clark. I am about 1/2 way through this. I love her writing. I also read Mary Higgins Clark and Carol Higgins Clark -- same type of stuff. Mysteries, short chapters, etc.

I have Janet Evanovich's 5th Stephanie Plum novel, "High Five" waiting for me from a hold at the library. I'll probably get it tomorrow.

And, Nick and I are now reading Magic Tree House #14: "Day of the Dragon King". He read a whole page of it to me today and only got stuck on a few words. That kiddo is amazing!

Finally, I read a couple of pages of DH's Blue Nile book today. We'll see how that goes. He's reading the true story of the NY Central Park jogger who was attacked, beaten badly, etc. I read a few pages of it. It seems very well written.

That's it, I think!

Catching up on magazines right now. I have two books sitting on the coffee table but I haven't felt inclined to pick one up.

Finished The Red Tent by Anita Diamant in one day. Finished The Birth of Venus by Sarah Dunant in one day. Had a couple of days of reading while at the beach.

Red Tent was better than Venus for me. Venus had potential to be REALLY good but fell quite flat.

Still working on HP#7. I'm getting to some exciting stuff so I'm looking for any and all time to dive back into it. I should be done in a few days.

Forever by Pete Hamil as suggested by Amy. very good so far, but the first bit was SLOW. now it's rocking and rolling though.

Also on tap: The Last Summer (of You and Me) by Ann Brashares for my IRL book club.

The beginning was a little slow---but I read that whole book in 3 days---so it did pick up for me and I liked it till the end

Listening to Count of Monte Cristo. Reading No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency.........a lot better than I expected, really liking it so far. Also have a few nonfiction books going right now, but I doubt anyone would be interested in those...........

I finished "Lights Out Tonight" and "High Five". I started Evanovich's "Hot Six" tonight...still addicted, Brenda.

Also, I am going to read more of "Open House" since it's a women's book club book and I seriously think I am going to return "Memory Keeper's Daughter". Everytime I pick it up I just can't make myself read it; it doesn't capture my attention at all.

Nick and I finished Magic Tree House #14 and started #15 tonight: "Viking Ships at Sunrise".

I have a friend here who loves this book and has re-read it several times. I'm going to have to pick it up!
