I didn't have a mix like I usually do so I used Amanda's recipe. The only thing I did different was add a little flour to the meat after I browned it so it would thicken up and I added a little garlic salt. It turned out yummy! I used ground buffalo since we are trying to clean out our freezer before the 100lbs of buffalo shows up.

DH ate his in a bowl with cornbread. I made a pile of mixed greens on a plate then laddled 2 ladles full on top of the greens. I sprinkled some low fat cheese and low fat sour cream on it. VERY VERY GOOD! For desert I made sugar free chocolate pudding and put it in little grahm cracker crust with lite whipped topping.

Brenda :thats-funny:

I'm curious why you needed to thicken it? I have never had a problem with it being watery, but I don't add water or anything to mine, only tomato sauce and it thickens on it's own. Dh does like it more after it has simmered, the other day I made it in the afternoon and let it sit in the crockpot all day. Ithink dh liked it like that.
The kids like chili served over macaroni with cheddar cheese mixed in.

I'm sorry...I just realized it was Tammy's not Amanda's recipe I followed :thats-funny: . Sorry Tammy. Anyways, I always brown my meat with water and since the buffalo meat was so lean, I didn't drain it. Do you drain the tomatos and beans? I didn't. Also, I didn't simir it very long. DH was starving! I t was delicous!
