I got in a 2.25 mile tempo run today. Shorter run, but at a faster than usual pace. This week isn't shaping up to be what I had planned for running. Between the weather and DH's travel plans, it looks like I'll have to try to get in my longer run on Thursday instead of this weekend.
I've decided to train for a 25K race in May. I've got 15 weeks to train for a 15.5 mile distance and finish in the required 3.5 hours. I'm a super slow poke and my longest run to date is 4 miles, so it's a very ambitious undertaking for me. I figure I can always drop down to the 10K or 5K run, if needed.
A relatively large bunch of barefoot runners (not that there are that many of us) are planning to meet up at this race.

There's an effort underway to get Guinness involved in an attempt to set a world record for the most barefoot runners in a race. It would be very cool to be a part of something like that.
Peace,
Karen

Good luck, Karen! That sounds exciting!
I'm hoping to do a 5K in April, *possibly* a 10K in June (that seems to daunting to me!) and hopefully a relay marathon in September. I'm a slow poke as well and my longest run has been 4 miles, although I haven't hit that recently yet.
Tonight I did a 5K run on the treadmill.

Congrats to both of you!
I started my training for the 1/2 mile non-competitive walk just to see if I can handle it. I looked up the training schedule tonight I did three miles on the treadmill: 1 hour to complete, 323 calories burned. So far, so good.
Yes, Karen, I hope I can do the 13.1 miles. I think it's doable. We'll see.
