Nick finished another Weird School book and his joke/riddle books. He was reading a Sponge Bob riddle book to Alex last night and they fell asleep in bed together! No biggie but they keep passing a cold back/forth.

Alex finished w/my help the 4th Boxcar book...the Benny & Watch series. Now I have to find out where he put the 5th one so we can get to that!

It's been hard to squeeze in nightly reading with baseball season but I'm insisting on reading time. (They love reading; it's just so late when they get home. Sometimes they read in the car to/from baseball vs. at night cause they're tire.)

ellen's into the little house series I got her for her birthday, book 1 is almost done. :hugs:

aud's teacher stopped me in the hall today to say "I haven't been able to finish audrey's reading test she keeps going on to the next level! maybe tomorrow I'll get to her level" I excited to hear where she lands.

Yay on both accounts! I read the Little House series when I was younger too. I still have my copies but have no one to pass them onto at this point. :hugs: :search:

WTG Audrey! We go through the same thing with Kayleigh every year. They finally decided to just quit testing once she reached at the 8th grade level since no one wants her reading high school books anyway. LOL

no doubt, it's about appropriateness as we've discussed at that age!

Aud scored end of 2nd grade, and that's as far as they test in 1st grade, which I think is silly. they said they'd test further in beginning of 2nd grade. she's loving non-fiction books lately which is something Ellen doesn't dive in to very much so it's interesting for me! lol

Ellen reading a book named "cookie" I picked up at the library, looked appropriate, but I only skimmed, hope I was right. link

Kayleigh just took her SRI test at the middle school on Thursday. She got the highest score they've ever seen, putting her at 12th or 13th year, according to one of the teachers. Not sure what we're supposed to do with that....
