How's the house hunting coming? I was thinkin of you because 3 years ago I was in the same position as you. Our house had sold in another town (after 3 years on the market, I kid you not) and we were moving close to Calgary, which has an extremely hot market (our current house's value has risen probably $80k in 3 years - nice investment I'd say ), so good houses are hard to come by. We had so many that we loved that were conditionally sold the next time we went to look at them (hard to make an offer when it's C/S because it's not legal to find out what the offer is - so you can take the chance & hope it comes out ok, then the people have 3 days to come up with their money, and if they do, you're out anyway). It's so frustrating.

I was starting to panic when we only had 3 weeks left because we had to be out of our house, but we found this one. Cosmetically it was in shambles, but we saw so much potential. The location was so great (5 houses down from the school on the same side of the street, so no crossing the road for the kidlets), the house was sturdy, just needed cosmetic touch ups (hello people, don't you ever weed your flowerbeds?LOL!).

In all my ramblings, I just wanted to say that a house is out there waiting for you, you'll find it!

p.s. I feel bad, I hope I didn't make you feel bad below when I teased ya :)

Nahhhhh. I knew you were kidding. LOL

We're actually...not even officially house-hunting yet. I am just looking to see what we're not going to buy. LOL
Unfortunately, we need to do a bunch of big things on the house before we can even put it up for sale...roof, kitchen floor (there's pieces of tile missing, LOL) and get a lot of stuff out of here! It's taking so much longer than I thought.
I just want to cry when I think of another year in this house. I am suffocating!
I can't even see the house being ready to put on the market by fall, at this rate.

We're having classic no-win...we can't afford for someone else to do the work (but Glenn is super-handy). Unfortunately/fortunately, he's been working huge amounts of overtime to sock money away in our "house" fund. The more he works, the more is in the house fund, but the less he's home to work on the things that need to get done before the house can go up for sale.
I do as much as I can, but there are some things he insists be done a certain way... or the roof...I am deathly afraid of heights, besides haulng those shingles up and down the ladder.

Thanks for thinking of me!
