I just finished reading Still Alice today. I haven't had a book make me cry so much in a long time. I highly recommend this book. If you don't know the topic, it's a fictional story about a woman who is diagnosed with early onset Alzheimers. She's 50 years old when she starts having issues. It's told in first person from the patient perspective and I am so glad I read it. My grandma had this disease and I don't know if she carried a gene that was passed down or not but I felt like perhaps I now understand a little more about how the actual person feels going through this. Tomorrow I meet with three ladies whom I really admire to discuss the book. I think I'm going to need tissues. :swoon:

Now, I hope to get back to Whiplash by Catherine Coultier. I do have to give you all a bit of a brag here with her last book, Knockout, I made a comment on her website about the book. In March of this year I was contacted by the author then her publisher asking if they could use my quote when the paperback book was released. I gave them permission to do so. The author contacted me last week asking for my snail mail address so she could send an autographed copy to me. So, I'm published! ;) Seriously, it is an honor to be quoted in the "fan section" of her book and now I have this wonderful keepsake from one of my favorite authors. The signed copy came in yesterday's mail.

hey that's cool Peggy!! congrats!

I am deep in Wicked, really enjoying it though it is NOTHING like I thought it'd be! makes me want to go read Wizard of Oz (I've only ever seen the movie) as I bet there's a lot more social commentary that didn't translate to the movie. anyone know?

That is so cool, Peggy!!!!

I am reading Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows right now, as is Kayleigh. I have just been overwhelmed reading through the series this time on how much Rowling gets you caring about the characters. I find myself aching for them in parts, crying in parts, rejoicing, etc. I love when a book does that! I just started the book Saturday night, but I have a feeling it won't take too long to read through it, as it's had me up til at least midnight every night so far!

Time to start thinking about what book/s I want to take with me on vacation next week....

Finishing up "Alias Grace" in the next couple days and moving on to "The Passage" once I'm done! Yeah!

Finished with Harry this afternoon (Kayleigh should be finished tonight, I would think.) I was looking through a stack of books from my mom and saw a new Jodi Picoult book. Didn't know she had one. Haven't loved most of hers since she got really popular, but I think I'm going to start on it tonight.
