I decided since the boys are on spring break this week it is the perfect time for me to get my butt back in gear with exercising. I've been feeling better for the past couple weeks, but with so much time not doing anything I've had a hard time getting back into it. So, this week since I have no one to get anywhere by any time and no specific plans, I have no excuses. So I did my 20 minutes on the elliptical (am not up to doing any more than that after pretty much a month and a half off!!), and then drug out my pilates for pregnancy book and started the second trimester w/o. I was going along doing just fine...until I got to the buns & thighs part, ugh. Man, I don't remember it hurting that much the first time I ever did it, LOL!!! I know I haven't done it in ages, but sheeesh!

So now that I see just how badly my buns are needing help, maybe it'll be easier to stick to it, LOL. Need to work on my arms too, I need at least *some* part of my body to have a little bit of muscle tone! For some reason I'm having a harder time accepting the whole getting bigger part of this pregnancy. Maybe since its happening a whole lot earlier than it did the other 2 times, I know I'm gonna have a lot longer to feel and look huge. Or maybe since I'd hoped if I ever had another baby I'd have gotten skinny enough to get a cute pg belly and that so did not happen, LOL! Or it could be I feel kind of pressured not to gain too much weight by my dr (she's approached it in a nice way, she thinks because of my size I should probably not gain more than 20-25 lbs), and I always seem to tank big time when I feel forced to do (or not do) anything when it comes to dieting/exercise.

Anyway, hopefully you'll see more of me around here!

Good Luck on your quest to stay healthy while Pregnant Amanda! I'm with Winnie, I love pregnant bellies! (makes me want one too!!!)

Trying to not sound like a nag here, but this is time for you to focus on growing a healthy Baby. Dont get hung-up on how much weight you should gain. Eat as healthy as possible, but dont deprive yourself! You have that ice cream if you want it! You have plenty of time to shape-up & lose weight after the baby comes. (but I know the 3rd time around I would like to stay more active too!)

*hugs*
Sarah

Oh believe me, I have NOT been depriving myself, LOL! Despite feeling carsick for weeks on end I had a very voracious appetite, and I have not tried hard at all to fight off any cravings I've had. Honestly I'm not really worried about the number of lbs I gain, my previous dr never said even one word about my weight or how much I should gain (and I only gained about 30 & 35 lbs with my boys so I'm not expecting to gain a ton anyway). And if I gain more than 25 lbs there isn't really much this new dr can do about it now can she?? LOL!! Its just a mental problem knowing I am getting bigger, and I've had it with every pregnancy, its just worse this time. Its hard being 100 lbs overweight and accepting that you are going to get even bigger than you already are, despite not feeling comfortable with your body, its hard to find maternity clothes that fit well through all 9 months.

Anyway.... I know I'll get over it eventually, cuz I'll have to.

Oh, and I don't think you were being a nag! :)

Good to see you back Amanda! I totally get where you are coming from on your whole post. My second pregnancy I showed sooner. I can't imagine right now having a 3rd now that I'm finally starting to change my health. But we keep talking about it and anything is possible, isn't it. I hope the bun battle improves for you and don't worry we are here for you.
