we cant get dh a ticket on my plane for less than a grand!!!!! and other flights are also expensive.. 595 round trip is the cheapest we can find right now!!!! ummmm not really want we want to pay..

so unless we either win the lottery... orrrrrr something comes up reallly cheap.. I am flying out alone...

I am kind of bummed about him not being able to go...

However I hope I can hook up with Wendy....

Ummm I leave Madison.. get a connecting flight from O'Hare to Lax.. and then Lax to O'Hare and connecting to Madison

Aw bummer. That stinks that your DH might not be able to go. Keep checking the airfares though. Southwest has been running some pretty good deals for summer. Hope you can find something and don't have to go alone. Although alone isn't really a BAD thing when you are going to be pampered. DH's have a way of interferring with that and making it about them, LOLOL!! Enjoy the trip regardless!!!!

awww, that sucks. I went alone and it was still a great time. We were so busy most of the time that had I brought anyone there would've been a lot of just sitting around and waiting, especially when I went the second time and there was literally no down-time. The first trip, they split up our work days among the testimonies so while some were working the rest of us had time to ourselves to do whatever. I was too tired to do much of anything during my off time, aside from the great luncheon with the March 2001 Moms who came to visit, but I know Jess and her Mom did go in to Hollywood and shop Santa Monica and stuff. I kindof wish I had done a bit more on my off time, but it didn't really matter as I still had an AWESOME time even if I went alone.

BTW, will you be in Santa Monica or do you know your location yet?

Lauren... I dont know where I will be staying yet.... but when I do I will let you know...

we are still on the "radar" witth our travel agent..... I would LOVE for dh to go too!!!! We shall see.. but otherwise... Wendy is coming to play with me.. and I have a HS friend out there whom I am trying to get in touch with to let her know I am coming.. have not seen her in like 15 years or more!!!!

That's cool that Wendy is coming out to play with you! I was bummed during my second trip when I wasn't able to get a chance to see Wendy or some other old friends of mine who lived near enough to Ventura (where we were staying during that trip). I literally had no free time, aside from time to sleep. I still had an unforgettable time, I just wish I could've had an extra day for visiting :-)

Have you checked to see what it would be if he flew out of O'Hare directly? Or what is the name again of that other big Chicago airport...cause I think they have the Southwest Airlines deals... The Van Gelder bus is pretty inexpensive to ride down there, and it goes right to O'Hare. Hey, I'd offer to go with you, but guess the prices would be the same for me, lol!!

I checked, and I'm not sure exactly your dates, so I put in 6/26-6/29, and the least expensive from Chicago was $415. The bus wasn't much last time I checked, maybe 20 some dollars. Unfortunately, fights from the Midwest (Chicago or Madison) are usually always at least $400 to LAX. I flew out there for school and for missions trips to go to Mexico, and even then in the late 80's and early 90's, they were still about $400.

It's $404 right now from Midway, but not sure that a bus goes directly from Madison to there.

We did look ... midway.. o'hare etc etc etc.. but we cant find a flight for less than 500 $ and dh is really not wanting to pay that right now.... I wish we could swing it but well there are always things like bills to pay.. and the flights that say they have??? well some of them dont have seats....

It still might happen... we will see.... thanks for the ideas!!!

Oh, that is annoying! I think I'd call the airline directly and say you have seats advertized at such and such a price if you think you could swing it. I totally understand about there being bills to pay first though. I think you'll still have tons of fun out there alone...sounds like Lauren's trip was pretty busy!

Bummer!! It will still be an awesome trip & you're gonna have so much fun!! They will keep you busy & my Mom & I really only had one day to do much sight seeing so we packed in as much as we could!! And we made a trip to Hollywood which made me feel like I was in a movie! I was glad that she was there, but I would have been ok on my own too. I know that LS kept busy the whole time too. I hope you can meet up w/ Wendy & maybe Rachel can be a jet-setter & make a quick trip too?? I wish I could afford another trip out there, it was tons of fun!!!

And if you're in Santa Monica, you'll be close enough to the beach to walk. It was a lot further to walk to the Pier than we thought though, it didn't look too far from our window but it was! And the shopping was so much fun. What dates will you be gone again??
