Thank you again for all of your thoughts and prayers for Drew. Following his overdose he spent a day in the cardiac unit at the hospital, just as a precaution, and then was released to the psychiatric ward for in-patient treatment. I'll go this morning to have my first family therapy session with him and his case worker since this incident. At that time, I hope to get an idea as to how long he may be staying there and what the next steps will be following his inevitable release. So far there seems to be no health issues as a result of his overdose. I wish a magic wand existed that I could wave over him and make all of his emotional troubles vanish...

Well, I saw my OBGYN yesterday. My OBGYN was so excited about my picture on the cover and said she can't believe she has a celebrity patient (lol, I'm SO not the celebrity...) I'm 30 weeks along and already dilated 1cm. I'm not that surprised, as I've been having a lot of Braxton Hicks Contractions this week following all of the stress. Let's hope this baby doesn't decide to come early!! Ideally, I'd like to hold out until the end of July to give this baby more time to cook (not due until August 14th). Besides, I'm only halfway through my hypnobirthing classes and I'd really like to use what I learn in delivery.

My blood pressure has been doing better with modified bed rest, even despite the stress this weeks. Regardless, the bedrest will continue especially due to the dilating. They will be doing another Fetal Fibronectin Test (FFN) at the end of June to see if there's an increased risk of preterm labor at that time (last one they did prior to my trip to Penn State). A woman who tests positive for FFN stands a good chance of going into preterm labor within one to two weeks of the test. The test is better at diagnosing women who are NOT at risk for going in to preterm labor than as an acurate predictor of women who are at risk. Let's hope I test negative for that and get the "a-ok" from my OBGYN at the end of June to attend the National Parkinson's Foundation's Young Onset Parkinson's Disease Network Conference. Every summer, NPF holds its annual Young-Onset Parkinson Network (YOPN) conference. This event is coordinated by and for people living with Young-Onset Parkinson disease. Conference sessions include presentations by clinical experts, professionals in the areas of caregiving, support, and advocacy, as well as persons living with Parkinson disease. I'm scheduled to be one of the speakers (on a panel, discussing the importance of Support Groups) at the event and I am planning (baby willing) to spend the weekend in a hotel near the event so I don't have to travel back and forth that weekend from MD. Another reason we need to get the FFN test, is because my husband is supposed to be flying to Bermuda at the end of the June to sail from Bermuda back to Annapolis. He would be under sail for a week for the return trip to Maryland. I keep telling him there's no guarantee I WON'T have the baby even if the test comes back negative. He'll decide whether to go when the results come back.

Last night we attended the Awards ceremony at the high school. Brianne received the Outstanding Spanish 4 Student at the school (only one receives it) and was recognized for her work on the Student Council. Next year she'll be Secretary of our local youth chapter of the United Way and she's received a mentorship to spend 4 months shadowing a neurosurgeon and/or a vascular surgeon (she wants to be a doctor...possibly find the cure for Mom's Parkinson's). She had straight A's once again this semester. Her last day as a junior is Thursday and then she's officially a Senior. Time flies...And Miranda and Joey are doing well, too. Miranda's last day of 7th grade is Thursday. Joey will begin Kindergarten in the Fall. When did they grow up? Thank you again for the thoughts and prayers. Your posts and responses meant so much to me. I cried as I read them, but it was so comforting to know that you all are just a click away when I need a virtual hug or shoulder to lean on. ((((HUGS))))

Oh, LS!! I'm sorry you're dealing with all this. I hope that Drew gets the help he needs. I'm also thinking of you and the baby. I really hope you make it to that conference. Hugs & belly rubs.

Oh, I've been really thinking of you and your family. I wish you could have Harry Potter's wand and make it all go away. Mental Illness is such a very dificult to deal with. There are pills that help, but they can never guaranty no relapse. I really hope that the therapy appointments help. I also wish that Drew will find peace within. Please keep you and baby healthy through all this. You're love and perseverance is what he needs, am I'm sure he feels it.
