Ok, this is the deal:

I need to get my stuff together and be serious about getting in shape. I checked my BMI this morning after weighing myself yesterday. Weight was 154 :hugs: , BMI was 24.9, which is still w/i healthy range but is too close to "over-weight" for my comfort. I am just sick about it. I was down to 144 in the spring and now I have so much work to do to get back there. B) But, I am not going to dwell on it. There is nothing to do but get back on track, loose the weight and get in shape.

My Modivation:

My DH and I are going to St. John in March for our 10 year wedding anniversary. :hugs: I want to look really good in a bikini, hopefully one of the bikinis I wore on our Honeymoon. :hugs:

My Goal:

I want to drop 20lbs by March 1st. That will put me at 134, which is where I have been comfortable in the past. (I know it should not be all about the actual number on the scale, but I really need a number to focus on at this point.)

My Plan:

1.) As of yesterday I have given up pop. I will drink my coffee (w/ Splenda) in the morning and water the rest of the day. No more drinking my calories.

2.) Eat breakfast. I am very bad about not eating breakfast. I do not usually feel hungry in the morning, but I also know it is not healthy to go for long periods of time between meals.

3.) I will watch my portions. We eat very healthy overall, but sometimes I eat too much.

4.) I will watch out for unhealthy carbs. I will eat more protein and more fiber.

5.) I will have healthy snacks between meals. At least of piece of fruit.

6.) Excerise. Minium of 20 minutes, 6 days a week. My plan is to alternate treadmill and pilates right now.
I am also thinking of joining the gym in town. I have heard some good things about the people who run it. They have lots of different programs and equipment. They also have babysitting. The monthly memebership fee is only $26, which you cannot beat.

That is my plan. Any thoughts or suggestions would be very helpful. I am thinking I may use one of those online diaries to help me track my food intake and see where I am falling short.

I think your overall plan is excellent, absolutely great! I think the only suggestion I would put forward is to only implement one or 2 of those at a time. Most people get too burnt out when they add to many 'plans' in action at once and it overburdens them. Try 1 a week or so and see where it leads you, G/L!

That sounds like a great plan Amanda! You can do it!!! :hugs: :( My only suggestion is to realize that you may have setbacks along the way (example: you may get sick or have something else happen along the way that prevents you from doing XYZ) and to accept that it is okay. Do not dwell on it. Just realize it and move on.

Good Luck Amanda and Keep Us Posted!!

Thank you for your suggestions! I knew you all would have some reasonable insight into my plan. I took my measurements yestereday as well. They are:

Chest: 35

Waist: 31

Hips 39.5

Right leg:
top thigh: 23.75
mid thigh: 21.75
ankle: 9.5

Left Leg:
top thight: 24.5
mid thigh: 21.5
ankle: 9.5

Right arm: 10.75

Left arm: 11

I know it sounds silly to measure my ankles, but last spring I could really see a difference in my ankles, so I thought I would measure them as well.

Thanks again for your help!
