Rain Rain Rain, Broken Dishwasher & Trip to the Doctor!

The past week has been crazy. It's been raining so much lately that our sumpump has been working non-stop for 3 days. Then, our dryer died so we had to buy a new dryer over the holiday. Earlier in the week I started breaking out in an unknown rash which I find out today after a trip to the doctor b/c it was blistering that it is contact dermatitis from POISON IVY!!
I have no idea how I got it except maybe it was from doing yardwork and picking up what I thought were weeds or from a party we went to last week at a friend's house in a wooded area.
This is the first time I've ever gotten it and I need to find the culprit so I don't keep reinfecting myself with the resin. Anyways, my skin is not looking great. It's red, incredibly itchy now and the doctor gave me some oral and topical meds so I hope they will work fast. I need to wash the clothes in HOT water but my new dryer won't be here until Friday. I haven't been able to run over the weekend b/c I didn't want to make it worse by sweating in the heat outdoors. So, that's what has been keeping me busy for the past few days. Not exactly the fun weekend I wanted to have...lol!

OMG Winnie, dosen't sound like much fun. Wow, I've never been infected with poison ivy and I live in the bush and for camping. Hope you find the culprit and stay away from it! Sorry to hear that you had a bad weekend. Hope it gets better soon!

Yikes! That doesn't sound fun at all! Hope it clears up quickly. Congrats on the new dryer and I hope the sump pump holds up!
Once my sis got a stress fracture from years of running without changing shoes often enough. So she had to have her foot casted, BUT unbeknownst to her, she had been exposed to poison oak right before she got the cast put on. So when she broke out, it was inside the cast and she almost went insane with the itching she couldn't get to to either scratch or put the ointment on!

. It sounds like you had quite the weekend. It always seems when one things goes wrong it all goes wrong. I am super allergic to poison ivy, so I know how awful it can be. Hope it clears up soon.

Oh my goodness that must have been awful for her!
Thanks everyone! I'm still itchy but the swelling has gone down. If you saw my arms now you would think I was doing drugs...lol! I hope the dryer comes early in the day since I have a TON of laundry to do.

Ooh, that does NOT sound like fun!! I've only had small patches of poison ivy but it does itch like crazy! Kiersten had a bad patch of it this summer, poor girl!
I hope your dryer gets there quick! Can you go to the laundry mat to get caught up a little?? At least there you can do a whole bunch of loads at once! That happened to me a couple yrs ago, you don't know how much you depend on it until it's broken!!
Here's some ~~no itchy~~ vibes for ya!
Hugs,
Jess
