frozen solid of course that i would like to toss in the crock pot. Can I stick it in there frozen? And what should I use to spice it up? I don't usually cook pork roasts, so bear with me here!

You can put it in frozen, just make sure the crockpot isn't warm/hot yet, or you could crack it.
I've done a pork shoulder roast in the crockpot with just an onion sliced over the top. Later, when it's close to done you can stir it, pull out the bone and pour in a bottle of barbecue sauce over the top. This is the recipe Crista posted a while ago. I've made it a couple of times and dh loves it.

Do you have any onion soup mix? Just poor a package over it and you're done!

you don't have to do anything to it if you don't have anything. Just some salt and pepper, but I would throw some onion in if you have it.
