Thanks for the Cathe recommendation yesterday in the exercise post! I’m lurking every once in a while, just super busy with my freelance work, PTA stuff and the school yearbook I volunteered to do (DOH! What a dummy I was for that!). I wish I were busy with home renovation work like you! Be sure to take before and after pictures. :hugs:

I’ll have to look into that step video. I’ve narrowed my choices down to (but still can’t decide):

High Step Circuit
Legs & Glutes
Low Impact Step & Total Body Sculpting
Cardio & Weights

As much as I like Step Fusion, I need something new. I’ve been rotating them with my Kathy Smith ones and my treadmill workouts, but I’m still ready for a new challenge. Have you tried the High Step ones? They use the same risers, but I’d need to buy the smaller square platform top. My only concern is it might put me too high to the ceiling!

One toy I did just buy is a heart rate monitor. I’ve been doing intervals on the treadmill, but wasn’t sure I was getting my heart rate high enough to hit the aerobic zone. Now I know where to set the incline and when to add a few minutes of sprinting bursts to keep it up there. It’s really cool.

Keep those workout recommendations coming. BTW, did you know you can watch previews before you buy them on Cathe.com?

How's the knee? Mine doesn't hurt much while exercising (although I've been wearing a Cho-Pat strap- a GODSEND!), but by bedtime it is sore, all the way up into my hip; haven't quite figured that out yet. :hugs: So I usually fall asleep with the ice bag on my knee and the heating pat on my hip. It makes me feel really old, LOL.

Lisa

P.S. I’ve always meant to tell you: on the back of one of my Kathy Smith DVDs, it says that stepping has the same aerobic benefits as running 7 mph!

You're welcome!!! I don't have the high step, so I don't have any recommendations but I can tell you that I loooove Legs & Glutes (plus it is on the same DVD as Kick, Punch, & Crunch which is great kickboxing!), and Cardio & Weights (w/ IMAX 2- LOOOOOVE it!). C & W is a great circuit workout! Another one that I don't have that gets great reviews is LowMax, which is low impact cardio w/ a lot of emphasis on legs.

I'm loving my new step workouts, they are so fun & a good change of pace. I can see that it would equate a run of 7mph, your heart really does get pumping!! The IMAX's are great interval workouts which really get your heart rate up there (which would be awesome to use your new gadget!).

Yep, you can also preview them at collagevideo.com before buying.

My knee hasn't hurt AT all but I also haven't been running. After my last attempt (a week & a half ago) I told myself I'd give it 2 more weeks. But honestly, w/ my new DVD's it hasn't been so bad. Plus I've been really hitting the weights heavier & seeing a big change from that. Sorry you're still having pain when you go to bed. I hope yours gets better soon. My friend Erin's IT band is fine, but she might have a stress fracture in her foot, she goes in for an MRI tomorrow. And Melissa is having back problems still, we're a big mess! None of us have run much since the marathon a month ago!! Right now I'd be happy w/ 3 miles w/out pain!

OK, pop in more often!!! BTW, where is Rachel????? Oh Rachel!!!

Hugs,
Jess
